An attempt at party planning!

I've never been very good about organization. I try...I really try. I make lots of lists. I lose lots of lists! I doodle alot while I write those lists. And they never really do help me. Pictures help some. But it's time consuming to print them out. Not to mention pretty near impossible to keep track of them all! I find things to be easiest for me when someone else makes the step-by-step instructions and all I have to do is follow them. I'm a Type A personality....trapped in a right-brained mind!!!

And that is so far off topic I can't even begin to explain where I might have been going with that!!!

I made a deal with the man (ie. my husband) that I would only throw one birthday party a year!! What was I thinking??? Where am I supposed to put all this excess party planning energy??! But then I got to thinking....it took me YEARS to perfect my wedding. Bridezilla?!? Well...maybe just a bit. And so many things went right that day....a few went wrong but they're easy to laugh about! So maybe one party a year won't be such a bad thing!

This year (2010) was Nani's turn. She turned 2 in April and had a fantastic Nick Jr. party. One day I'll find the pics and upload them! One day....

That means next year (2011) is Carly's turn! But I had a brilliant idea today! I will stick to my agreement....one party a year. But that one party will be to celebrate the births of all my children!!! So since it is Carly's year....we will have our 2011 Birthday Bash on her birthday (or as close to it as we can get!)

I'm starting early this time. Very very early! Over a year early to be more precise. But if I'm going to make this a great party....I just might need all the time I can get! I've always dreamed of throwing my girls a fairy party. I am the ultimate girly girl and I can think of nothing more magical than fairies, wings, glitter, twinkle lights, flowers and lots and lots of tulle!! God did his part and gave me Nani. But Nani is strong willed....and a tom boy :o( Actually she's fantastic but "girly" isn't a word anyone would use to describe her! So my first party was dictated by our 2 year old.

This year though it's MY turn! muahahahaha I WILL get my fairy party! Buuuuut...what about our little boys? We have so many wonderful little men in our lives...I just can't leave them out! But I don't want to upset any parents by offering the boys wings and tutus! Sooo...in another stroke of GENIUS it came to me...pirates!!! We can loosely base the party off of the Tinkerbell and Peter Pan movies! And bonus score....Nani LOVES pirates! So my little tomboy will have pirates and canon battles and sword fights....while my little chunker will get wands and dress up clothes! And of course all the kids will be able to freely choose between the groups! Or perhaps we will have some "pirate pixies" running around!!!

So there you have it! My fantastic plan!!!! And this blog will serve as a space to collect all the wonderful little details I find around the web and wherever else inspiration might strike! This is going to be the party to begin all parties!!! AND we will try to do as much of it as possible ourselves to save time and money!

Are you as excited as I am?
